How to Install Lightning Assist: Step-by-Step Guide for All Platforms

Get Lightning Assist up and running in minutes with this comprehensive installation guide for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Before You Begin

  • System Requirements:

    • Windows 10/11, macOS 10.13+, or Linux
    • Internet connection for initial setup
    • Administrator/sudo access for installation
  • Download: Visit our downloads page to get the latest version

Windows Installation

Step 1: Download the Installer

  1. Go to our downloads page
  2. Click "Download" for Windows
  3. The installer file (Lightning-Assist-Setup-X.X.X.exe) will download

Step 2: Run the Installer

  1. Locate the downloaded .exe file
  2. Double-click to run (Windows may ask for permission)
  3. Follow the installation wizard:
    • Choose installation location (default is recommended)
    • Click "Install"
    • Wait for installation to complete

Step 3: Launch Lightning Assist

  1. Installation completes automatically
  2. Lightning Assist launches on first run
  3. Create your account or sign in
  4. Start your 14-day free trial!

Troubleshooting Windows

Issue: "Windows protected your PC" warning

  • Solution: Click "More info", then "Run anyway" (we're a verified publisher)

Issue: Installation fails

macOS Installation

Troubleshooting macOS

  • Solution: Right-click → Open (first time only), then click "Open" in the dialog

Issue: App won't launch

Linux Installation
