Snippet Suggestions While You Type
A snippet library only saves time if you remember it exists. Lightning Assist watches for the right moment and offers the snippet itself — near your caret, in whatever app you are typing in — so the library comes to you.
What are snippet suggestions?
As you type, Lightning Assist matches what you are writing against your snippets — their triggers, their names and the words inside them — and shows the matches in a small popup near your caret: Tab inserts, the arrow keys move between matches, Esc dismisses. Lightning Recall goes further: write a phrase you would normally type, and the snippet that contains it appears, no abbreviation to remember. Everything is matched on your device; nothing you type is sent anywhere. It works across Windows, macOS and Linux, in every desktop app — not just one editor or one browser.
Four ways your snippets find you

Start typing a trigger or a snippet name and matching snippets appear near the caret. Tab inserts the selected one, arrows navigate, Esc dismisses — your hands never leave the keyboard.
Lightning Recall
Write naturally. When your words match a phrase inside one of your saved snippets, it appears — no trigger to remember. The comparison runs entirely on your device, against your own snippets.
Save as snippet — offered in the moment
Type the same phrase a third time and Lightning Assist offers to save it as a snippet right there, once per phrase. Accept with Tab or dismiss with Esc — it never nags twice.
Suggested snippets on your Dashboard
Phrases you keep retyping are counted on your device and surface on the Dashboard with how many characters they would save — one click turns them into snippets.

Matching happens against your own snippets, on your computer. The stream of what you type is never logged, stored or sent to us or anyone else — and repeated-phrase counting keeps only a fingerprint until a phrase repeats enough to matter. One switch in the app turns all of it off.
The honest limits
Suggestions, Recall and phrase discovery read words as you type them, so they work in As-you-type mode (the default) — not in Hotkey mode, which doesn't watch typing. With an input method (Chinese, Japanese, Korean), they only match Latin triggers typed before conversion.

Does it work in every application?
Yes — the popup appears near your caret in any desktop app on Windows, macOS and Linux, because matching runs at the system level, not inside one editor or browser extension.
Is what I type sent to a server?
No. Matching runs entirely on your device against your own snippets. Nothing you type is logged, stored or transmitted — the privacy policy spells this out feature by feature.
Can I turn suggestions off?
Yes — one switch (“Snippet suggestions while typing”) in the Dashboard or Settings turns off the popup, Lightning Recall, the save-as-snippet offer and repeated-phrase discovery, per device, instantly.
Which plan includes suggestions and Lightning Recall?
